Tired of winter, see my new video
29. January 2011 by janet.
So after a few weeks of the worse winter, including minus degrees temperatures, I went to the beach and brought my beach chair today. My computer assistant Serena helped, as we trucked through the snow, passed the parking lot, swings and out to more snow. You can catch this on You Tube, go to search Beach Chair Diaries, you’ll see about five videos, but check out Beach in February. Hopefully, it will bring you warmth and a smile.

20 more inches of snow
15. January 2011 by janet.
The snow is piled so high it’s hard to see over the snow when trying to back out of my driveway. Needless to say, I’m pretty sick of this winter. I feel like I have a part-time job shoveling and that’s just my small space for my car, my back stairs and the walkway to the backyard. My friends emailed me from Maui, reporting that it’s been raining on and off for two weeks, the parking lots are full of water and there are mudslides. I emailed them that I would rather swim in parking lots than shovel them. Tonight it’s 12 degrees outside, but I thought, maybe the worst is over for this winter……

Homeless Man makes a comeback
7. January 2011 by janet.
I LOVE good news and today the news was about a homeless man, Ted Williams, a former radio guy with a great voice. The television show filmed Ted finally seeing his mother after ten years. When he walked to hug his ‘mommie’ he kept calling her Mommie over and over. I have to admit, at that moment, I think everyone was in their mother’s arms. My mom passed away nine years ago, but as Ted hugged his Mommie, I could almost smell my mother’s perfume and feel her hug. It makes me smile on a cold January night. Ted thanked God for what happened to him and I thank God too.
