20 inches of snow
28. December 2010 by janet.
Yesterday after receiving 20 inches of snow, I gave a snow plower $45 to plow the snow away in five minutes, which would have taken me two hours and lots of back pain to do. Afterwards, I couldn’t resist a great photo opportunity, so I dragged my beach chair out to place on top of the five-foot high snowbank. Hopefully, my wonderful computer assistant will figure out how attach the photo. After that first photo I decided to drag my beach chair into the back yard for a second photo. As the wind blew the chair almost out of my hand, I thought to myself, it’s amazing how far I will take my beach chair.

When in doubt, look out to sea
14. December 2010 by janet.
Maui is a magical place because I constantly learn new things. One day, while I was walking my favorite beach in the world, I noticed how crowded it was and as I started getting frustrated at all of the people around me and in the water, I looked out to the ocean. I saw the gentle waves (it was morning) the distance islands and felt the warm winds. I suddenly thought that anytime during my life, I can decide to be frustrated at crowds or anything or I can let nature relax me, even if it’s a made up dream. As I write this I’m happier, warmer and more relaxed. Aloha.

Back from Paradise
9. December 2010 by janet.
Just flew in from Maui after seven book signings with my new reprint. I loved swimming and do beach yoga everyday. I realized how much a better person I am because of doing yoga and being able to swim each day. The people in Hawaii spoiled me with leis, great food and fun times. My friends play guitar on the beach every Sunday and although I was still doing work, I had a great chance to relax. I love the Mana Kai Resort where I stay in South Kihei, Maui, you don’t have to wear shoes. My goal in life is to wear flip flops for the rest of my life and never.
